The full command line for uninstalling Driver Fusion is C: Program Files (x86) Driver Fusion Uninstall.exe. Keep in mind that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you may receive a notification for admin rights. Driver Fusion's primary file takes about 6.71 MB (7036416 bytes) and its name is DriverFusion.exe.

Zuhl3156I might try it Wednesday when my replacement 680 gets here. I probably don't need to use it since I'm going from dual SLI 570 boards but what the heck. For some reason that I can't recall, Guru3D stopped endorsing it and there won't be any info at their forums. I still have the Driver Sweeper installation download so if I don't like it I can always remove it and roll back.Hello Zuhl3156,As you can see by our account name here, we represent Treexy and Driver Fusion. As you might already know, development on a complete rewrite of Driver Sweeper started more than a year ago.

We initially wanted to continue the Driver Sweeper name, but because of the added functionality we decided to change the name to Driver Fusion. I can only suggest to stop using Driver Sweeper as Driver Fusion is a much and much better product. Several issues with Driver Sweeper occurred as you might remember, all of which are solved now thanks to the completely rewritten engine. The performance and stability is greatly enhanced and I can only recommend you to check out Driver Fusion, you won't be disappointed.PS: I'm the original developer of Driver Sweeper and 100% involved in Driver Fusion, don't worry- Marcel - Treexy. Zuhl3156Thanks for the reply Treexy. From what I read here:Driver Sweeper endorsement and support was dropped by Guru3D because of 'adware'? I really don't know if I want to use it now.

GeForce and nVidia instruct me to use it, so I use it when I have problems. Now I'm hesitant because I don't want my system polluted with ads. I'm perfectly capable of removing old file remnents without it.Hello Zuhl3156,That is not the case, there are no adware/spyware/virusses in Driver Sweeper or Driver Fusion at all. The VirusTotal scan also has zero items found, we do not endorse adware/spyware/virusses in any of our products, nor will this ever be the case. Guru3D never supported Driver Sweeper other than hosting it, they don't have any source code or other rights to the software, all Guru3D did was hosting it and for that I was friendly enough to put the Guru3D name in.

However, I decided myself to take it down completely from Guru3D after multiple arguments and harassments from the owner, namely Hilbert Hagedoorn. In an attempt to salvage some credibility he came up with all kinds of claims that were never proven or found correct. This is the last post about Guru3D though, any other questions about this subject will be left unanswered. If you have any questions regarding our products, feel free to ask, and I really suggest you to check it out, you won't be disappointed. TreexyZuhl3156Thanks for the reply Treexy. HAZMANTHEGREATMan are you really the creator of driver sweeper? Its kind of odd that Treexy, a creator of his own product would actually post those comments on a forum like this. It would make more since you would do it on your own website, forum, bulletin board, news/update board, or reviews.

Just saying.Actually, I know of a few CEO's that post on other forums as well as their own. Buff for instance has posted in dpreview as well as Fred Miranda (although the later has permanently banned him from posting). Not all that unusual actually. The communication between us wasn't on a personal and close-enough level, which I expected after years of collaboration (remember that Driver Sweeper went to Guru3D in 2007). Hilbert and I had a good run for a while, but it ended, like many things do. My closing argument was because I think there is no point in getting back to this subject after more than a year, because it only makes things look worse than they really are. On the other hand, I don't mind talking about this and I'll keep continuing here regarding the subject if you like. The previous post wasn't meant as a personal 'attack' on Hilbert, the discussion about Driver Sweeper was directly between me and him and there were disagreements about statements made in the past.

That being said, Driver Fusion has nothing in common anymore with the Guru3D Driver Sweeper and I wish Hilbert all the best with his own venture.Regarding the adware, Driver Sweeper never contained adware, it only used OpenCandy in the installer which is used by a lot of software developers in their installer, e.g. Winamp, uTorrent, DAEMON Tools, CCleaner and Xfire all use OpenCandy. This ofcourse benefits the developer, but also the end-user. Without OpenCandy the latest versions (everything 2.1.0+!) of Driver Sweeper would've never seen the light. Hilbert from Guru3D was of opinion that showing an offer about another program or toolbar (which is what OpenCandy is doing) during the installation is seen as bad practise and posted the claim that Driver Sweeper contains adware on his website. It was, and still is, my opinion that this is common practise these days and would mean that nearly every application today is adware. You can make up your own opinion about what is should be marked as, but keep in mind that it is not that different from showing advertisements on a website.

It's very similar to advertisements on a website, because the content doesn't contain advertisements but the site does. The installer of Driver Sweeper contains advertisements for other software, but the program does not, nor will it ever.Just to give you guys an idea about what OpenCandy looks like during the installation (this is the only page that is shown):Note that this is an opt-in solution, no software is installed without your consent. If you don't want OpenCandy, simply disallow internet access with your firewall or use the /NOCANDY flag by command-line. I would like the stress the fact that there is nothing malicious going on. Please take the time to give Driver Fusion a try and if you do find something wrong with the installer then please let us know because this should never be the case.We strive to have a close communication with our end-users, that includes posting on forums like these (I do have my own account here as well) to help and support people where needed. I agree with maniacvvv, let the software speak for itselves and any suggestions or improvements are always welcome on our forum.I apologize if my previous post might have come over as insulting, this was not my intention. It's just unfortunate that old resolved matters still have a tendency to arise again.

This is all about how a developer makes money off his work. The original Driversweeper was an awesome program that worked very well indeed, so well that hundreds of thousands if not millions of users installed and used it.While I am not privy to the deals made to have the program (Driversweeper) branded and hosted at Guru3D, one can assume that revenue sharing from the hosting site was a part of it.I will skip over all the unpleasantness and focus on today. The new site as you can see, has no revenue advertisements of any kind.Money appears to be made in one of two ways. Donation is present at the site itself, as well as the inclusion of the 'OpenCandy' Adware suite in the installer for the program. This program appears to create revenue in two directions. First the installer itself contains the OpenCandy.DLL which apparently runs from a temp folder during the install. It appears that it is designed to scan out certain hardware and software features of a users system and report them back to the OpenCandy site, while at the same time offering up a possible Download for the user to install.

It appears that users may 'skip' the 'suggested program' install if they so choose. This is a very very smart way of producing revenue, as even if the user declines the 'suggested' OpenCandy third party program (and thus loses that income), it still retains the original hardware/software scan data which has value by itself. Is OpenCandy a Virus? No not in the true sense, as it does not hide itself and can be removed. Is OpenCandy Adaware? In the truest form, it is. It is a program designed to make income by installing third party programs during a primary program install.Should you be worried about OpenCandy being in the installer package? No, given todays software and browsing environment OpenCandy is just another company making money off users in a fairly upfront manner. Some website cookies and other 'OpenCandy' like installers could be considered much worse. What about the programs that OpenCandy offers to install? Now that is dicey, such program offers are apparently decided by both the developer and OpenCandy. Remember, they are trying to make money here, so anything they 'offer' must contain some sort of revenue generating method. My suggestion is to -never- install third party programs when installing something you want -ever.

If you need another program, go find and download it yourself. Allowing third parties to do so for you is never a good idea.My personal suggestion to the developer, is to dump OpenCandy completely and start working towards getting your site properly setup with advertising. You have a great program available and you will generate the hits needed to provide a good income, as an super added plus you have a great marketing segment of users. I would be milking that bro.The bottom line.As long as you do NOT accept the 'offered' download from OpenCandy, the program appears to be fine.My reservations about the OpenCandy 'offers' are that what software is installed and how that makes OpenCandy and the Developer money is NOT transparent, and as such should not be trusted. Here is the developers comments on OpenCandyThis is openly posted on his site, a large plus for transparency. Here is OpenCandy's own site infohere is OpenCandy's privacy info.Note on the above. OpenCandy appears to link to Wikipedia for personal data privacy details (and what is and is not personal) on its software that is a HUGE warning flag to me.Here is OpenCandy's developer linkHere is OpenCandy's advertisers linkUsers should read up and decide for themselves what OpenCandy is and how they feel about itPersonally, as long as I never get in a hurry and forget to bypass the OpenCandy installer, I dont think I am going to have any problem with using the program.

It will be a week or so till I can get my coding guy to look it over, after he gives the all clear, you can expect a review of the program and possible inclusion in my next Nvidia driver guide. It -is- a great program and the developer deserves to make a living off of it. Thanks to everyone for their responses especially maniacvvv for confirming adware. There is no adware in my current version of Driver Sweeper and I will continue to use it. Options to install toolbars are often a common source of revenue but Uniblue? Uniblue is in no way shape or form endorsed by Microsoft and is a particularly destructive registry 'cleaner'. Talk about false advertising! Shame on you Tweexy.

Guru3D is one of my first stops every day to find the latest drivers and utilities. So, sorry again if I ruffled any feathers. Linkian19Viper97Not sure of all this. One thing I am sure of, if lawyers are involved it's best NOT to comment. It may wrankle some folks noses but that's how it goes in the world of litigation.True. He could be doing what his lawyer is telling him to do. Which I guess I can't fault him for.

Still wrankles my nose, as you would say lol.My humor. Rankles as in to cause persistent irritation or resentment and of course wrinkle. Which we all do when something smells funny.:) Two birds with one word! Zuhl3156Just an observation but is the mention of Guru3D to Tweexy the same as garlic to a vampire.Well if his facts are correct about not getting a basis for Driversweeper downloads at Guru3D, he has every right to be upset. Even more so, given he was only trying to have some income off his personal work. And lets not forget, while Hilbert runs a outstanding website. That has not always been the case, and Hilbert himself has not always been an 'angel'.

He has also made some serious mistakes in judgement and learned some hard lessons.I wish the developer of the new DriverSweeper version well, and hope that he is properly compensated for his outstanding work. Its like you work there or something lol. But thanks for sharing your info with us. Also driver sweeper is awesome program, and Treexy thank you for your awesome program that I use so very often. Its better than CCleaner. CCleaner has the tendency to mess up a lot of peoples registry.(Happened to me before and NO I did not use it wrongly). AzamatmaniacvvvIt appears that it is designed to scan out certain hardware and software features of a users system and report them back to the OpenCandy site.

I don't understand why are you bashing the guy when he's providing 100% transparency on what he's doing to make extra income. You do know 'trusted AVs' and 'malware' programs do add this sort of thing into their installers. You have the right to accept or no.For personal reasons I do not frequent guru3d anymore. I found the site hosts and it's mods to utterly have zero respect for it's program developers. They want a piece of the pie by adding in their guru3d water mark or changing the program name.Internet rumors are bad and they're just that, rumors. Sometimes they are correct, but other times they're not. And by the time that rumor is proved to be incorrect, the damage has done way to much.I'm no 'fanboy' or worker for this company, i'm just giving my opinon.

That majority of the software industry uses these type of installers to make income.long time lurker here, and i love this site:).
